Family Weekend Booking Reminder

As per our update a few weeks ago we have now reopened the bookings for the Family weekend for 2025. This year it will be hosted at the Village Hotel Manchester Ashton on Saturday 18th October to Sunday 19th October. When booking this year you will only be able to book for the day and evening events. Members are reminded that they will need to arrange their own accommodation which suits their needs. To secure your place we will be asking for a deposit of £50 per booking which will be returned to members after the family weekend has taken place and confirmation of attendance.

We are working hard to finalise the agenda and will followup as soon as this is confirmed. A sneak peak for the Agenda is a potential Medical Talk from Birmingham Hospital and Accessible gaming. Both these are subject to confirmation.

New Website Live!

After a review and feedback, we have built a new website which showcases TAG in a much better light. We understand the importance of keeping a professional and modern website, which we hope will help to attract new members and medical professionals. We have included a picture of how the website used to look so you can see the difference.

TAG is on LinkedIn!

Improving our digital image is high on our list, and by placing TAG on LinkedIn we are now accessible to more people. Our LinkedIn is still really new and we are still building, any feedback or suggestions you have please do reach out to us. Click Here to check out or LinkedIn.

Meet Dan Atkins - First EDGA Event – Scottish Open Recap

Last week, I had the incredible experience of competing in my first EDGA event at the Scottish Open at Rowallan Castle Golf Club. The tournament was played over two rounds, with a practice round beforehand to get a feel for the course and settle the nerves.

The atmosphere throughout the week was fantastic — spectators lined the course, which really added to the buzz of the event. One moment that definitely stuck with me was the official announcement on the first tee: "From England, Dan Atkins!" Hearing that over the speakers was a bit overwhelming, but also a proud and surreal moment.

Day one didn't quite go to plan — I struggled to find my rhythm, hit a few loose shots, and lost a couple of balls along the way. I ended the day with 28 points, putting me in 11th place out of 21.

But I regrouped for the second round. With better course management and a more controlled approach — not trying to hit the cover off the ball — I managed a solid 36 points. That pushed me up to 8th place overall, securing a Top 10 finish in my debut event.
All in all, it was a brilliant experience and one I'll never forget. I'm hoping this gives me some momentum heading into the rest of the season. Next up is the English Open at Ramside, from June 23rd to 25th — can't wait to get going again!

Fundraising

TAG relies on donations to continue the good work that we do. Without this, we would not be able to host the events and support that we provide to members every day. If you can help, please check out the details on our Fundraising page using the button below

Medical Professionals

We are constanstantly looking to improve our connections with the medical community. Arthrogryposis effects 1 in 300,000 people and there is very little research into the condition. We have a whole section on our website dedicated to medical professionals and improving these connections. Check it out
